      WEBSITE CONTENT    WEBSITE CONTENT

People experienced and involved with Internet Marketing, search engine optimisation or e-commerce agree that website content, above all else, is the key to success in any new web creation. Content is King and the driver of the Internet.

In a nutshell the whole Internet would not exist without content. That is somewhat simplistic but upon analysis, it’s absolutely factual.

  • GOOGLE is a lot of content about web sites, collected and assembled by google spiders.
  • AMAZON is a huge collection of books, and other products. You are given the option purchase these products.
  • EBAY is content about many items people want to sell.
  • CNN is content about national and international news and events.
  • FACEBOOK, MY SPACE, YOU TUBE. Or your local sports club website – it is all content.

On this site you can learn here why website content is so important. Why it is crucial you have a strategy for your website content and understand the important role that content plays in rankings search engines allocate.

It would be wonderful if you could create a web site with the exact content needed to elevate it to the top of Google rankings. Nobody knows exactly how the Google algorithms work, or what makes some sites rank higher than others. Nobody has the complete answer, but we hope to discuss quite a few techniques and tweaks here that will be of help with website creation and search engine optimisation (SEO).

RELEVANT CONTENT

Relevant content in your website creation is important. If your site is about ‘home decoration,’ you would then want the Googlebots to be searching for the same keywords and associated phrases to index your site to that particular subject. The days when a few well chosen keywords could demand a high search ranking are almost history.

Google and other search engines now has the amazing ability to determine the true topic of a web page or site regardless of the keywords or phrases used. For people publishing a genuine web site, this is to their benefit. They can now write in a more natural manner, without becoming concerned about how many times they must incorporate certain words and phrases.

Not withstanding the above you should still endeavour to incorporate some important words and phrases, but you don’t have to compromise the natural flow of your content as much as was necessary some time ago.

IMPORTANCE OF QUALITY

Back in the last decade of the 20th century and even early this one, a search may have produced a result similar to the following:

‘Welcome to our home decoration hints site. Home decoration hints for everyone. If you are seeking home decoration hints this site will please you as home decoration hints can transform your home’.

A few years ago writing such as that would have given a high ranking. Unusual phrasing repetitive text would now see the site dropping away down the rankings or even possibly ignored by search engines such as Google.

It's not 2002 anymore. The search engines are smarter than ever. They can now determine the difference between quality and inferior content, and no doubt their search spider ability to determine quality as well as content will continue well into the future.

There is no need to take a course in creative writing, that is not at all necessary, but it does mean that you should ensure that your site content is of a reasonable standard, easily read, with good spelling, and generally focuses on the topic.

IMPORTANCE OF QUANTITY

It is uncommon to see a single page site rank at the top of search results. Google and other search engines want to provide results for people using the service. It is indeed difficult to provide quantity on a single page! (even if it’s a long one) Most sites that focus on a topic, of good quality and adequate quantity will always rank well.
